This includes the Tribal Lands of the BadRiver Reservation, the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the St.Croix Band in Burnett County, the Red Cliff Band and thenorthwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band. Other locationsincluding Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands NationalLakeshore.* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday.* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zerocould cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin isexposed to these temperatures. An extended period of verytemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves or mittens ifyou must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
