Excessive Heat Warning issued June 29 at 12:55AM CDT until June 29 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 111.* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas.* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increasethe potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for thoseworking or participating in outdoor activities.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances. Do not leave young children and pets in unattendedvehicles.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the OccupationalSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent restbreaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome byheat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke isan emergency! Call 9 1 1.
