Red Flag Warning issued March 9 at 3:11AM CDT until March 9 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /11 AM MST/ TO 7 PMCDT /6 PM MST/ MONDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR NORTHCENTRAL AND NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA...The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red FlagWarning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effectfrom noon CDT /11 AM MST/ today to 7 PM CDT /6 PM MST/ thisevening. A Red Flag Warning has also been issued from noon CDT/11 AM MST/ to 7 PM CDT /6 PM MST/ Monday. The Fire Weather Watchis no longer in effect. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer ineffect.* AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, Corson, Campbell, McPherson,Brown, Walworth, Edmunds, Dewey, Potter, Faulk and Spink.* WINDS...West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph today. West 25to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph on Monday.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent today and Monday.* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and becomedifficult to control or suppress.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination ofstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures cancontribute to extreme fire behavior.
