Winter Storm Warning issued January 18 at 11:16PM EST until January 19 at 10:00PM EST by NWS State College PA* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and6 inches. Higher amounts are possible on the hill tops like SouthMountain, Blue Mountain and the Furnace Hills.* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania.* WHEN...From 4 AM to 10 PM EST Sunday.* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, willlikely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be verydifficult.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow will fall between 2 and 6PM EST. Rates of 1 inch per hour or higher are possible duringthat time in intense snow bands.If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water inyour vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions forthe state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for suddenchanges in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and themotorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach yourdestination.
