For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold windchills as low as 27 below expected.* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohioand northwest Pennsylvania.* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 7 PM EST this evening.For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 10 AM ESTWednesday.* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could causefrostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbiteand hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to thesetemperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures couldcause ruptured water pipes. Wind chill values can lead tohypothermia with prolonged exposure.Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you mustgo outside.To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them todrip slowly.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
