Flood Warning issued October 1 at 9:20PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in NorthCarolina...Neuse River Near Goldsboro affecting Wayne County....The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in NorthCarolina...Neuse River At Smithfield affecting Johnston County.* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.* WHERE...Neuse River at Smithfield.* WHEN...Until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Flooding beginsalong the Neuse Riverwalk. Water nears the base of the holdingtank at the water treatment plant.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 8:15 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 15.2 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stageearly Wednesday morning, then rise above flood stage onceagain early Thursday morning and continue rising to a crestof 16.5 feet Saturday morning.- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
