Flood Warning issued September 28 at 1:24PM EDT until September 29 at 1:15PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes andsouthwest Virginia, including the following counties andindependent city, Carroll, City of Galax, Grayson, Smyth and Wythe.* WHEN...Until 115 PM EDT Sunday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for allthe water from these storms to work through local drainage systemsin urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 123 PM EDT, Emergency management reported flooding isongoing. Between 6 and 15 inches of rain have fallen.- Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additionalrainfall is expected.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Boone, Wytheville, Galax, Marion, North Wilkesboro,Wilkesboro and Hillsville.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
