Heatindex values of 105 to 109 expected Sunday.* WHERE...A portion of the eastern Piedmont, Sandhills, and CoastalPlain of central North Carolina.* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM EDT Sunday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will be slow to fall below 80degrees tonight, especially in urban areas.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion orheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air-conditioned environments.
