Winter Weather Advisory issued January 7 at 11:47AM EST until January 9 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Additional snow accumulations 6to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows this afternoonthrough Wednesday night. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph willresult in areas of blowing snow at times.* WHERE...Wayne, Northern Cayuga, and Oswego Counties.* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday.* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult at times with moderate snow andareas of blowing snow lowering visibility to a half mile. Thehazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesdaymorning and evening commutes.Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling,be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.Submit snow reports through our website or social media.During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locallyheavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions justa few miles away.
