Total snow accumulations10 to 20 inches in the most persistent lake snows. The greatestsnow amounts in the Buffalo Metro area are expected across thenearby southern suburbs and possibly South Buffalo. Little or nosnow is expected across the northern suburbs.* WHERE...Northern Erie County.* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Sunday.* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult in areas of heavy lakeeffect snow with deep snow cover on roads and extremely poorvisibility.During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locallyheavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions justa few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,visibility, and road conditions.Consider delaying travel. If you must travel, drive with extremecaution. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead ofyou, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid suddenbraking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or whenmaking turns.
