Extreme Cold Warning issued February 17 at 1:35PM MST until February 19 at 11:00AM MST by NWS Glasgow MT* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 60 below.* WHERE...A portion of northeast Montana.* WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Wednesday.* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 60 below zerocould cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin isexposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezingtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you mustgo outside.To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them todrip slowly.Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andunfrozen water.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
