Hydrologic Outlook issued July 7 at 2:46PM EDT by NWS Northern IndianaESFIWXThe potential of heavy rain is expected to increase this week as theremnants of tropical system Beryl lift across the western GreatLakes or Ohio River Valley. An initial round of scattered showersand thunderstorms is possible Monday night into early Tuesday. Thegreater potential of heavy rainfall is Tuesday night into Wednesdaynight. Confidence remains low on the exact track of this system andthe resulting axis of heaviest rainfall. However, the potential doesexist for some locations to receive heavy rainfall amounts of 2 to 4inches from Tuesday night through Wednesday, with locally higheramounts possible.Heavy rainfall could lead to areal flooding concerns and rises onrivers across the area during the middle and latter portions of thisweek. If higher precipitation amounts in the forecasted range occur,some river flooding would also be possible. A good deal ofuncertainty persists regarding the track of this system, so stayweather aware over the next several days and monitor forecastupdates along with the potential for any flood watches and warnings.
