Winds gusting as high as 30 mph.* WHERE...Eastern Mackinac, Western Chippewa, and Western MackinacCounties, and Beaver Island and surrounding islands.* WHEN...From 4 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday.* IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous.Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowingsnow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make traveltreacherous and potentially life-threatening.Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for suddenchanges in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and themotorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach yourdestination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especiallycautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car iswinterized and in good working order.
