Winter Weather Advisory issued January 5 at 4:50AM MST until January 5 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Goodland KS* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches.* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas andsouthwest Nebraska.* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likelybecome slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions.Slow down and use caution while traveling. For road conditions inKansas, Nebraska, and Colorado call 511. Do not use GPS foralternate routes or go around barricades.Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If youmust go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes willkeep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin toreduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and ahat will keep you from losing your body heat.A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, orfreezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared forslippery roads and limited visibilities, turn off cruise control anduse extra caution while driving.Persons traveling on Interstate 70 will experience travel delays andhazardous driving conditions. Use extreme caution if you must travel.
