Winter Storm Watch issued January 3 at 2:07PM CST until January 6 at 3:00AM CST by NWS Des Moines IA...ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL OVER SOUTHERN IOWA SATURDAY NIGHTAND SUNDAY....A winter storm will move into the on Saturday night and bringaccumulating snowfall across parts of southern Iowa. The highestsnowfall amounts will fall near the Missouri border whereaccumulations of 6 to 9 inches will be possible with even higheramounts forecast over northern Missouri. Dry air will be funnelinginto Iowa with winds from the northeast averaging 10 to 20 mph andthis will result in a sharp cutoff in snowfall amounts, with loweramounts in the northern part of a given county and higher amounts inthe southern part of the county.
