After a brief reprieve, dangerously cold temperatureswill return for portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana,and western Kentucky.* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, andwestern Kentucky.* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until 3 PM CST /4 PMEST/ this afternoon. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 9PM CST /10 PM EST/ this evening to 6 AM CST /7 AM EST/ Wednesday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, andunfrozen water.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.
