High Surf Advisory issued January 31 at 3:27AM HST until January 31 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU KAUAIOAHU MOLOKAI MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND....A medium- to long-period north (010 degrees) swell will persisttoday, then gradually diminish. Additionally, a shorter-periodnorthwest (320 degrees) swell will build today, and may maintainhigh surf along north facing shores into Saturday before diminishing.* WHAT...Large surf of 12 to 18 feet.* WHERE...North facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai,Maui, and the Big Island.* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening.* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currentswill make swimming dangerous.Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don'tgo out.
