Flood Watch issued September 26 at 11:21AM EDT until September 27 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of northern Florida, including the followingareas, Central Marion, Eastern Alachua, Eastern Hamilton,Gilchrist, Northern Columbia, Southeastern Columbia, SouthwesternColumbia, Suwannee, Western Alachua, Western Hamilton and WesternMarion and southeast Georgia, including the following areas,Atkinson, Clinch, Coffee, Echols and Jeff Davis.* WHEN...Through Friday morning.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Widespread heavy rainfall falling over a short period of timeis expected as Helene accelerates northward into the Gulf ofMexico Wednesday and eventually making landfall somewherealong the panhandle of Florida on Thursday. Tropical Storm Warning issued September 26 at 11:05AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL* LOCATIONS AFFECTED- Anthony- Burbank- Ocala- Weirsdale* WIND- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind- Peak Wind Forecast: 25-35 mph with gusts to 60 mph- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 58to 73 mph- The wind threat has increased from the previous assessment.- PLAN: Plan for dangerous wind of equivalent strong tropicalstorm force.- PREPARE: Remaining efforts to protect life and propertyshould be completed as soon as possible. Prepare forsignificant wind damage.- ACT: Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant- Some damage to roofing and siding materials, along withdamage to porches, awnings, carports, and sheds.
