Forthe High Surf Advisory, until 11 AM EDT this morning.* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions andlocalized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the bestswimmers away from shore into deeper water.High surf will affect the beaches in the advisory area, producinglocalized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.Swimmers should remain out of the water due to large breakingwaves and dangerous surf conditions.Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly awayfrom shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in thesandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties andpiers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags andsigns.Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a ripcurrent, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. Ifable, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable toescape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
