Coastal Flood Advisory issued November 14 at 1:43AM EST until November 16 at 10:00PM EST by NWS Melbourne FL* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal floodingexpected.* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie,and Martin counties.* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through late tonight.For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 10 PM EST Saturday.* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers awayfrom shore into deeper water. Some flooding of low-lying lots,parks and roadways may occur near the shoreline. Water mayreach the dune line or sea wall along vulnerable beaches.Onshore winds and above normal tides will combine to generateflooding of low areas along the shore. Do not drive aroundbarricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessaryactions to protect flood-prone property.Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly awayfrom shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in thesandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties andpiers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags andsigns. Entering the surf is strongly discouraged.
