Coastal Flood Advisory issued November 16 at 3:29AM EST until November 17 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Melbourne FL* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding.For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents and roughsurf.* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie, andMartin Counties.* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 1 PM EST Sunday.For the High Rip Current Risk, through late tonight.* IMPACTS...Some flooding of low-lying lots, parks and roadwaysmay occur near the shoreline. Only isolated road closures areexpected. Water may reach the dune line or sea wall alongvulnerable beaches. Rip currents can sweep even the bestswimmers away from shore into deeper water.Onshore winds and above normal tides will combine to generateflooding of low areas along the shore. Do not drive aroundbarricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessaryactions to protect flood-prone property.Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a ripcurrent, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. Ifable, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable toescape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
