High Surf Advisory issued December 27 at 7:54PM PST until December 29 at 4:00AM PST by NWS San Francisco CA* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 18 to 25 feet.* WHERE...All exposed coastal areas between Sonoma and MontereyCounties. Largest conditions will exist at west facing beacheswith direct access to open ocean swell.* WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Sunday.* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions andlocalized beach erosion can be expected. Large waves can sweepacross the beach without warning, pulling people into the seafrom rocks, jetties and beaches. Sudden immersion in coldwater can result in cold water shock even for the mostexperienced swimmers. Cold water shock can result in dramaticchanges in breathing, heart rate and blood pressure, greatlyincreasing the risk of drowning in rough open waters.Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due todangerous surf conditions.
