Excessive Heat Warning issued July 3 at 2:08AM CDT until July 4 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 113.* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, northcentral and northwest Louisiana, and east and northeast Texas.* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Thursday.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat and high humidity events.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.
