Cold Weather Advisory issued January 22 at 9:21PM CST until January 23 at 9:00AM CST by NWS Birmingham AL* WHAT...Very cold temperatures as low as 10 degrees expected.* WHERE...Barbour, Bullock, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike,and Russell Counties.* WHEN...From midnight until 9 AM CST Thursday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures. An extended period ofsubfreezing temperatures could cause pipes to burst.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
