Cold Weather Advisory issued January 18 at 1:29PM CST until January 20 at 11:00AM CST by NWS Birmingham AL* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as around zero expected.* WHERE...All of central Alabama.* WHEN...From midnight Sunday Night to 11 AM CST Monday.* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures. An extended period ofsubfreezing temperatures could cause pipes to burst.Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.Keep pets indoors as much as possible.Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should bewrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
