Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes & Plains, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains forecast districts. VERY HEAVY SURF which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is possible along Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour coasts, from Point Danger and Smoky Cape during today and on Saturday, particularly about south-facing coasts and beaches. These conditions are forecast to ease overnight on Saturday night. VERY HEAVY SURF which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is possible along the Mid North coasts between Point Danger and Wooli during the day. These conditions are expected to ease during the afternoon. A Hazardous Surf Warning is also current for the NSW coast. Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas. Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Tweed Heads, Byron Bay, Ballina, Evans Head, Yamba, Woolgoolga and Sawtell.Coastal Hazard Warningfor DAMAGING SURFIssued at 9:43 am Friday, 27 September 2024.The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions.
